Bio

Moody E. Altamimi is the founding director for the Office of Research Education (ORE) at ORNL. Altamimi’s diverse set of skills and expertise in research development and management, strategy development and implementation, and technology translation, supports organizational efforts to advance ORNL’s science and innovation culture. She works with students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists in hopes of inspiring them to achieve greater impacts as they navigate their career paths by encouraging collaboration and team science, leading to world-changing outcomes. Altamimi earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in computer science from George Washington University
